The Difference Between Parkinson's and Parkinsonism ~ As Well As My New Diagnosis

This post has been moved here.

Please note that I am not a doctor or in anyway an expert. I am simply someone who has been diagnosed with Early-Onset Parkinson's since I was 42 while having all of my symptoms since I was 39 years old. It took 3 years to get a diagnosis. Theoretically, I had Early-Onset Parkinson's for the last 9 years.

  1. So are they thinking your Parkinsonism is from the Drug-Induced Parkinsonism, or have they checked for the normal pressure hydrocephalus from the head traumas? You know I have had trouble with dizziness quite a bit. The audiology doctor says it is not BPPV. However, the Epley maneuver does relieve the symptoms. It all started when we were at CPS in 1984 and I had those recurrent inner ear infections. Since then, I can't even watch something going in a circle out of the corner of my eye or I get nauseated. So glad you are finally getting some positive answers.

    1. He thinks it was that medication, but maybe a few other things helped it, too.We didn't check the pressure thing. The Epley Maneuver is probably helping because it gets "the rocks" back into their correct placement. That makes since with the ear infections, too. BPPV has a certain kind of world spinning all its own. It makes typical vertigo seem like a walk in the park, plus your eyes do that weird thing. Glad that it's working for you regardless. Do you have your own Dizzy Fix, so you can do the maneuver at home?
